The Power to Save

  • by

Introduction

The power to save is a remarkable thing. It is amazing to be in the presence of people who put their lives on the line to save others, isn’t it? These selfless men and women devote their lives to saving others from sickness, pain, abuse, and death. The ultimate example of the power to save is, of course, God’s great kindness to save underserving sinners. And after He does, He trains and equips them to help in the work (humanly speaking).

Discussion

Consider Jude’s charge in verse 23 of his letter, “Save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh” (NIV). Our lives are to be marked by fervent prayer and action to seek to compel people of all ages to repent and believe the gospel.

Just as there are firefighters, doctors and nurses, law enforcement, and a whole host of ways people can be employed in the power to save, there are many ways you and I can seek to reach people for Christ with the gospel. The message doesn’t change, but the medium can take many different forms. What matters most is our faithfulness to be involved in the work, and faithfully communicating the message entrusted to us.

Conclusion

What ways has the Lord gifted you? Whatopportunities has He given you to reach others for Him? Mark520.org is interested to know, and interested to help in the work, should you need it. Whether it is writing a book, starting a podcast, blog, or other means, give us a call and let’s schedule a time to discuss God’s power to save, and how, together, we may play a (very) small part in His great work around the world.
